Your Life

As part of NAHJ’s efforts to support the “whole journalist”, we will feature some sessions focusing on your personal development. Under the theme of Your Life, these sessions will deal with the anxiety of being out of a newsroom or of still being in one, but fearing you’ll be out soon. They’ll explore how to stay sane in this time of transition, identify your skills that can keep you on the path to journalism as you reinvent yourself.

And if you need to get a handle on your personal finances in these challenging times of transition, reinvention and opportunity, you can go to the Career Expo’s new Financial Corner for some one-on-one counseling and financial advice.

Work/Life Balance

Love and work are the cornerstones of our humanness, Sigmund Freud said. But how do you balance the two? Sometimes it seems like we never get out of the office and that our careers are all consuming, especially as our organizations asks us to take on more tasks and responsibilities. This workshop will give you the skills to achieve a better balance between work and home.
