Final Appointment to NAHJ Board

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists board convened to vote on the appointment of InfoMás anchor & reporter, Paula Machado to the position of region four director.

“With our final appointment, members of the national board represent every region of the country and Puerto Rico,” states Brandon Benavides, NAHJ President. “We are ready to move forward to help our members develop their journalism skills, network with newsroom leaders, and find jobs.” The national board consists of six officers, three at-large officers, eight regional directors, a student representative, one ex-officio, and the executive director.

Machado is a Puerto Rican-Cuban bilingual journalist and graduate from the University of Central Florida. Her journalism efforts have received award-recognition from both the National Association of Hispanic Journalist as well as the Radio Television Digital News Association.

In addition to the board appointing the 2016 – 2017 regional director, members discussed the upcoming board training and 2017 budget approval, which will take place on December 9-10th in Las Vegas, NV. The final agenda will be posted publically to association members six weeks before the meeting.
