“I know we as an organization strive to help Latinos make their mark in broadcasting and news by increasing our numbers and providing the resources and information necessary to make that possible.
I just wanted everyone there to know that my attendance at the NAHJ convention, when I was the host of "Hispanics Today" in San Diego in 2003, was a turning point for me. I learned so much there attending the workshops. A few months later I became the anchor of this newscast.”

Join us for the 23rd Annual NAHJ Convention and Media & Career Expo, June 15-18 in Fort Worth, Texas, where longhorns, modern art and a great nightlife await you!
Over 2,000 of the most influential Latino journalists, media executives and political figures will gather to discuss and debate the state of the media industry and the Latino community.
This year’s theme, “NAHJ in the Old West: El portal a un nuevo mundo,” will introduce this gathering as a gateway to a new world and a changing industry.
The convention also serves as a training ground and premier networking hub and will feature more sessions in Spanish, a Spanish-language student newspaper and more simultaneous translation than ever before.
You can also ride a mechanical bull and see a live armadillo race. Bring the family too! Kids will be able to record a weather report and much more.

Venga a disfrutar de la 23ra. Convención Anual de la NAHJ y la Exposición sobre Carreras en los Medios de Comunicación del 15 al 18 de junio en Fort Worth, Texas, donde los novillos “longhorn”, el arte moderno y la buena vida nocturna lo esperan!
Más de 2,000 de los periodistas latinos y ejecutivos de los medios de comunicación más influyentes del país, además de figuras de nuestro quehacer político, se reunirán para discutir y debatir sobre el futuro de la industria noticiosa y los asuntos que afectan a la comunidad latina.
El tema de este año, “NAHJ in the Old West: El portal a un nuevo mundo,” establece el evento como el portal a un nuevo mundo periodístico cambiante, a una nueva realidad global.
La convención servirá de sede de entrenamiento y como el foco principal de interacción para los periodistas hispanos y habrán más sesiones en español, un diario nuevo en español producido por estudiantes, y más interpretación simultánea que nunca antes.
También puede montarse en un toro mecánico o divertirse viendo una carrera de armadillo. ¡Traiga a la familia! Los niños podrán grabar un informe del tiempo televisivo y muchas actividades más.
