Thursday, July 24, 2008 - Fiesta to the Chicago Beat. Alhambra Palace Restaurant, 1240 W. Randolph Street, in Chicago's West Loop. Shuttle buses will depart from the Sheraton and Hyatt hotels starting at 9:30 p.m.

Spend the evening with NAHJ, moving your hips at a world-music bash in a spot inspired by the 13th-century Alhambra palace in Spain. This is a great way to take a break and party with our UNITY brothers and sisters.

Friday, July 25, 2008 - NAHJ Hall of Fame Gala y El Gran Baile. Sheraton's Chicago Ballroom. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Dinner and El Gran Baile at 7:30 p.m.

At NAHJ’s formal gala, attendees will honor the newest inductees to the NAHJ Hall of Fame. The 2008 Hall of Fame inductees are: Juan Gonzalez, NAHJ founder, former NAHJ president and founder of the NAHJ Parity Project, UNITY founder, columnist at the New York Daily News, and co-host of Democracy Now!; Maggie Rivas-Rodriguez, associate professor of journalism, University of Texas at Austin, and director of the U.S. Latino and Latina World War II Oral History Project; Francisco P. Ramirez, editor of El Clamor Público in California, in the mid 19th century when the U.S. had just taken over the state.
