Manuel “Manny” De La Rosa is a general assignments reporter for KIII-TV in Corpus Christi. He was elected as Vice President of Broadcast in the summer of 2006. He is the Awards Committee Chair for the national organization. Prior to that, he served a year as the Region 5 Representative and served on the NAHJ Board from 2000-2002 as Region 8 Representative.

De La Rosa has been a member of NAHJ since 1990. He also has served on the Issues Committee and was one of the committee members for the NAHJ convention in Fort Worth. In addition, he helped start one of the first chapters in the history of NAHJ in the Rio Grande Valley.

He also has been a member of the California Chicano News Media Association and Investigative Reporters and Editors. He was the Los Angeles Chapter President for CCNMA where he served on the statewide board in 1993.

De La Rosa, a native of Los Angeles, has more than ten years of reporting experience during his career. He has worked in the Rio Grande Valley, TX, Victoria, Tx, Waco, Tucson, and Santa Maria, Ca. He also worked as an associate producer in the Los Angeles Bureau for Court TV from 1998 until 2000.

De La Rosa holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Southern California where he graduated from in 1991. He has been married to his wife, Alma, for 11 years. They have two children, Denisse, 16, and Manuel II, 11.
