Visual Design Workshops
Power Visuals/Feature Design- Illustration
Take tips from the pros on how to present content in
compelling ways. Whether it’s conceiving design ideas or
executing a page or section or translating print work to the
web, there are rules to abide by - and rules that can be broken.
The panelists have been widely recognized for their visual
journalism work. They will show examples of how to spark
creative thinking, what works, what doesn’t, and why. This
session is good for those
working in both print and
design.

The Use of
Graphics to Draw in Readers
“Tell me the story in graphics,” readers tend to ask more and more these days. Why should journalists make readers read complicated material when it could be shown in an easy and smart way? Graphic reporters are journalists who research, interpret written information and make it digestible for readers. Infographics are also a growing field in web news treatment.
