General At-Large Officer Javier Palmera
Javier Palmera has over 20 years of experience in Television News. Palmera is currently the Executive Producer for KBLR, the Telemundo Network Station in Las Vegas.
An Art Institute of Philadelphia graduate, Palmera started his carrier with Good Day Philadelphia, at WTXF Fox 29, where he covered local and national news like the Presidents Summit for America’s Future, the Thomas J. Capano trial in Delaware, the John F. Kennedy Jr funeral and the Versace murder. After leaving FOX he successfully started the first live Spanish newscast for 69 News, an independent TV station in the Lehigh Valley, a show that quickly became the number one Spanish newscast in the Philadelphia market. After 4 successful years he moved to sunny Florida where he worked as a morning show producer WPLG, Local 10 News in Miami-Fort Lauderdale, where he covered many hurricanes and the Haiti earthquake. In 2010 Palmera took a Anchor-Executive Producer job with KUNS the Univision affiliate in Seattle and in 2014 he moved back to Florida where he worked as the News Director for Telemundo Tampa and a producer for the NBC affiliate, WFLA News Channel 8, where he covered the 2016 presidential election, President Obama’s restoration of the relationship with Cuba and the death of Fidel Castro.
Palmera was also a funding board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of the Lehigh Valley and the Washington Hispanic Media Association (WAHMA).
