INTERNET STUDY:

Journalists in Latin America overwhelmingly use the Internet as a reporting tool, according to a survey released last month that was conducted by the Kaagan Research Associates. Nine out of every 10 reporters, editors and news directors said they have some experience with the Internet even though Internet access in Latin America remains low. The study found that the Latin American journalists believe the Internet will become a common reporting tool within the next five years. Journalists covering business, science and technology are much more likely to use it for their jobs than other reporters, the study found. The survey interviewed 700 journalists from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, México, Peru and Venezuela.
