Miguel Rosa is the General Manager of the WIPM Channel 3 at Mayagüez, owned by the Puerto Rico for Public Broadcasting Corporation. His responsibilities include the administration and operation of the TV station.
He also serves as the Emergency Management Coordinator; is a professor of communications at various universities; and serves on the advisory board of the cultural magazine Identity.
Prior to becoming WIPM General Manager, Rosa was a documentary photojournalist for Puerto Rico Public Television’s WIPR channel 6.
He served as President of the Association of Photojournalists of Puerto Rico from 2005-2009. He was also a board member and Regional Director of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) from 2009-2013. He was a member of the board of the Center for Press Freedom Puerto Rico.
Rosa has lectured on Digital Journalism and New Tools in the Press Club of Mexico City attended by more than 150 people. He was selected to be part of the Hispanic group that attended the International Center for Journalists’ Digital Leader in online journalism course held at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He also participated in “Train the Trainers” a workshop for digital media leaders given by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in Washington DC.
