    In a letter to U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Antonio Garza, Jr., NAHJ joins other journalism groups in calling for a full federal investigation by the Mexican government into the recent killing of Bradley Will, a U.S. journalist working in Oaxaca.

    NAHJ Mourns Loss of Paul de la Garza
    NAHJ mourns the passing of Paul de la Garza, a reporter with the St. Petersburg Times in Florida. The veteran journalist died Sunday of an apparent heart attack. He was 44 years old.

    NAHJ is once again frustrated by the results of its 11th annual Network Brownout Report showing a lack of coverage of Latinos on the network evening newscasts of ABC, CBS and NBC. In 2005, less than one percent of news stories were about Latinos.

    In a letter to Senator Bill Frist and Senator Harry Reid, members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus supported NAHJ's call to have the National Telecommunications and Information Administration conduct a study on the state of minority broadcast ownership in the U.S. In the letter, the CHC cited NAHJ's previous attempts at requesting this study.
