NAHJ Elects New Members to its Board of Directors

NAHJ completed elections for 10 positions on its board of directors on Tuesday night. Eight region directors, a student representative, and a secretary were elected by the membership via electronic voting.

Region director positions run for two years, from now until June 2011. The student representative’s term is for one year, ending in June 2010. The term of the secretary, elected to fill a vacancy, also ends in June of 2010 when NAHJ will hold elections for the top eight officers of the organization’s board and announce the winners at its convention in Denver, Colorado.

Lifetime, regular and academic members were able to vote for the secretary and the region director of their respective region. Student members were eligible to vote for the student representative. With 254 votes cast, overall turnout was 19 percent.
