Vote Now! NAHJ Elections Are Now Open
Want to become more involved with NAHJ but don’t know where to start? Well here’s your chance. Elections for the Secretary, Student Representative and eight (8) Regional Representatives to the Board are now open.
Here are the candidates for the 2009-2011 NAHJ Board of Directors:
Secretary: Gustavo Reveles Acosta - Reporter, El Paso Times
Student Representative: Ada Alvarez - Student, Florida International University
Region 1: Miguel Angel Rosa - Camarografo/Editor, WIPR-TV Canal 6 Noticias (Puerto Rico)
Region 2: Maria Burns Ortiz - Sports Writer/freelance journalist, ESPN.com
Region 4: Sal Morales - Reporter, WSBS-22 Mega TV (Miami)
Roberto Pazos - Editor De Asignaciones, CNN en Español
Region 5: Manuel De La Rosa - Reporter, KIII-TV (Corpus Christi, TX)
Region 6: Fernando Diaz - Community Manager for News & Opinion, Chicago Now Project
Region 7: Angela Clemmons - Sports Copy Chief, The Denver Post
Region 8: Elaine Aradillas - Reporter, People magazine
Current Lifetime, Regular, Academic and Student members of NAHJ are eligible to vote. All eligible voters, except students, will elect the Secretary, and a Regional Director for their respective region. Students, will elect a non-voting Student Representative for the Board.
To vote electronically, you can access the ballot by logging in with your member I.D. number and last name.
If you want to vote via paper ballot, please request a ballot immediately at membership@nahj.org or at 202-662-7460.
All votes must be cast by 9:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Results will be announced on July 30.
