New voices on FM Latin radio Atlanta Latino reports that Zeneyda
Castillo (known as Sisi Castillo) and Victor Martinez (known as Víctor
Víctor) are the voices of Clear Channel Radio's Viva 105.3, the first
Spanish-language FM station in metro Atlanta, which started airing last
month. According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution, "Clear Channel
dropped its FM talk format, Real Radio 105.3, which drew poor ratings and
lasted less than eight months. Instead, Viva (WWVA-FM) is playing Top 40
Spanish hits. None of Viva's competitors can match its reach or Clear Channel's
resources. Rivals include the five commercial Spanish music stations on
the sonically inferior AM dial. FM Hispanic stations are popping up all
over the country. Viva 105.3 represents Clear Channel's 17th Spanish station,
according to Inside Radio, a trade publication. Clear Channel is by far
the largest radio station company in the nation with more than 1,200 stations.
It recently divested a minority stake in a major Hispanic radio company
and is expanding its in-house Latino division. "
Top 2 slots Univision announced that for the first time ever,
its TeleFutura Network has become the nation's #2 Spanish-language television
network -- behind only Univision -- in four key timeslots: daytime, early
morning, early fringe and weekend daytime among Hispanic Adults 18-34.
TeleFutura also retained its lead as the #2 nationally ranked Spanish-language
broadcast network in early morning, daytime and weekend-daytime among
Hispanic adults 18-49.
Coming up The Hispanic Women's Corporation (HWC) is hosting the
19th National Hispanic Women's Conference in Phoenix, Ariz., on Oct. 14-15,

Marta Sahagún de Fox. The two-day conference is the largest gathering
of Latinas in the country and will provide leadership and professional
development to over 2,000 participants while raising money for college
scholarships to benefit young Latinas.
