Donation Used To Support Community Education Program
(Phoenix) ABC15 and the Scripps Howard Foundation are honored to present Chicanos Por La Causa with $25,000 to support the Westside Workforce Development Program established by Chicanos Por La Causa.
Janice Todd, ABC15 Vice President and General Manager recently presented the check to representatives from Chicanos Por La Causa including Pete C. Garcia, President and CEO for Chicanos Por La Causa Inc; and Edmundo Hidalgo, Chief Operating Officer for Chicanos Por La Causa Inc.
With the support from ABC15 and the Scripps Howard Foundation, the Workforce Development Program will be able to purchase software licenses for GED preparation classes. The Westside Workforce Development Program works to help low income citizens become self-sufficient by increasing their literacy and education skills to receive their GED.
“This donation is a direct result of the ABC15 Parity Project Town Hall Meeting. We have been able to meet and interact with so many members of the Hispanic Community since we started this project. We are very pleased that the Scripps Howard Foundation helps us contribute to our local community and such a great cause,” Todd said.
