Conferencia Sobre Periodismo En Español 08 de Febrero, 2002 ![]() Photo: The Miami Herald The National Association of Hispanic Journalists invites you to a conference on Spanish-language journalism. The goal of the conference is to discuss the role of the Spanish-language media in the United States. How well are we serving our audiences and readers? How can we do a better job of gathering and providing information to the public? What changes are taking place in the field of journalism, and how can we make sure changes work for everyones benefit? If you want to be a better reporter, a better camera operator, or a better radio journalist, join us. If you want to find out about opportunities for on-line media, join us. If you care about the quality of news coverage provided by Spanish language media, join us. If you want to know how big media mergers affect the people who work hardest to bring us the news, join us. The conference is presented by Region 4 of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. Sponsors so far include NBC 6/Telemundo 51 in Miramar, Fla., the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and the School of Communication at the University of Miami. The conference will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. The registration cost is $15 for NAHJ members, $30 for non-members, and $5 for students. University of Miami students can attend for free if they pre-register. All checks or money orders should be made payable to the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. After January 31, registration fees will not be refunded. If you join or renew your NAHJ membership, the conference registration fee will be waived! The registration deadline is January 22 (postmark deadline). After that, on-site registration will be $25 for members, $40 for non-members and $10 for all students. Join us February 8 at the School of Communication of the University of Miami (School of Communication, Frances L. Wolfson Building, 5150 Brunson Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146). Information about the conference, including scheduled speakers and topics, will be updated frequently on the NAHJ Web Site, www.nahj.org. Gracias. |
