2005 NAHJ Convention Fort Worth, Texas Sponsorship Opportunities
As the first bilingual convention in the history of the association, thousands of Latino journalists will attend a convention with a U.S. and Latin American outlook, discussing everything from the implications of the upcoming elections in Mexico, to the slaughter of courageous journalists who follow their calling, to the impact that the globalization of news and information continues to have on all people across the hemisphere. A myriad of enhanced skills and issues-based trainings in both languages complete this package.
ñ Media Training Series (day-long workshops)
These intensive eight-hour sessions on everything from management and leadership to specific photography or writing techniques offer the convention’s most fruitful professional development experience. Most of these workshops take place Wednesday, the opening day of the convention. The number of participants in each workshop varies depending on the trainers’ requirements and format.
Sponsorship: $10,000 each
Workshops
The NAHJ convention program offers participants the opportunity to enhance their professional skills by attending extensive skills-building sessions. Sessions are categorized into eight (8) individual tracks that include: professional development, print, broadcast, new media, photojournalism, Spanish language media, young journalists and hot topics.
Sponsorship: $5,000 each
Plenary Sessions
These high-profile plenary sessions are convention highlights featuring a keynote speaker or a panel of speakers and top NAHJ leadership with more than 1,500 attendees.

Simultaneous Translation
In this first bilingual convention in NAHJ’s history, simultaneous translation will be offered at most major plenary sessions, luncheons, and other workshops as deemed appropriate. This will allow the full integration of those whose primary language is Spanish while offering those who only understand English a chance to fully participate in all discussions on hemispheric issues or in sessions where fellow journalists from abroad offer their expertise or speak of their often difficult experiences.
