The Washington Post's High School Writing and Scholarship Program for Washington, DC area HS seniors
ATTENTION: Washington, DC area high school seniors who are interested in journalism!!!
The Washington Post's Young Journalists Development Project for high school students of color in the metropolitan Washington, DC area is currently accepting applications for its fourth annual High School Writing Seminar and Scholarship Program. The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and The Post host this annual high school writing program.
Students who are selected for this program will get the opportunity to work with reporters and editors from The Washington Post while producing a newspaper or magazine story. This workshop is held on four consecutive Saturdays beginning March 8, 2003. Students must attend all four Saturday sessions. They must also have a command of the English language and have an interest in a career in print journalism. There is no fee for students to attend. But you must apply to be accepted.
Prizes will be awarded for the top two stories and may include a four-year scholarship administered through the National Association of Hispanic Journalists totaling $10,000.
POSTMARK DEADLINE: Wednesday, February 12, 2003. Applications must be submitted for students to be considered.
