INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
Best Candidates:
Students who are majoring in Journalism, Mass Communications, Computer Science or Information Technology with concentration in Network Management and Security.
At NAHJ, interns will:
- Develop office skills while learning to utilize our organization's computer system and equipment
- Work for a national association that interacts with the largest English- and Spanish-language news organizations in the United States
- Learnhow to network with executives in a professional office environment
- Learn how a non-profit organization carries out educational programs, including a national scholarship program
- Learn to develop administrative and business skills
- Gain exposure to a variety of career options
- Receive mentoring experience
- Obtain academic credit
NOTE: Internships at NAHJ are non-paid and for college credit only. Written and verbal Spanish-language fluency is preferred, but not required.
About NAHJ:
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that acts as a support group for Hispanic professional and student journalists who work in English- and Spanish-language print, photo, broadcast and online media. NAHJ was established in 1984 and has a membership of approximately 2,200 throughout the United States and Puerto Rico
